Overview

Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is the short-peptide fragment of Epithalamin isolated from the pineal gland by the Russian gerontology group led by Khavinson. Decades of their longitudinal data suggest it upregulates telomerase and shifts aging-related biomarkers toward younger profiles. Why it keeps returning in longevity research: Epithalon is one of the only compounds shown to directly upregulate telomerase activity in somatic cells outside the germline. That mechanism alone is rare — most anti-aging compounds act downstream of the DNA-damage response, not upstream at the replicative-limit level. IF the research hypothesis involves replicative senescence or telomere attrition, THEN Epithalon is the tool peptide with the longest clinical-observation record.
